{"id":21072,"date":"2024-08-19T11:57:56","date_gmt":"2024-08-19T07:27:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tarhabpolymer.com\/%d8%a7%d8%b6%d8%a7%d9%81%d9%87-%d8%b4%d8%af%d9%86-%d8%a8%d8%a7%d8%b2%d9%88%db%8c-%d8%b1%d8%a8%d8%a7%d8%aa%db%8c%da%a9-%d8%af%d8%b1-%d8%aa%d9%81%da%a9%db%8c%da%a9-%d8%b6%d8%a7%db%8c%d8%b9%d8%a7%d8%aa\/"},"modified":"2024-08-19T15:26:44","modified_gmt":"2024-08-19T10:56:44","slug":"robotic-arm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tarhabpolymer.com\/en\/robotic-arm\/","title":{"rendered":"Tomra to add robotic arm to its sorting arsenal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Germany-based Tomra Sorting Recycling, part of Norway\u2019s Tomra Group, used an online event in June to announce the release of new sorting technology for several different recycling applications.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The company\u2019s June 9 \u201cSymphony of all Sorts\u201d online presentation included the launch of two new products \u2013the company\u2019s new generation technology AutoSort and AutoSort SpeedAir\u2014and gave a preview of another product with a robotic arm called the AutoSort CyBot.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20480 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/tarhabpolymer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/autosort-s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"383\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tarhabpolymer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/autosort-s.jpg 600w, https:\/\/tarhabpolymer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/autosort-s-480x306.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Tomra says the CyBot feature is its \u201cfirst robot\u201d and consists of a new generation AutoSort scanner working in combination with an electromagnetic sensor and a robot arm.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cThe addition of a robot arm to our AutoSort system opens up a wealth of new opportunities for highly automated applications within the sorting process,\u201d says Valerio Sama, a Tomra vice president and head of product management. Sama says the device \u201cwill deliver an even higher level of quality control of recyclables such as HDPE [high-density polyethylene], PET [polyethylene terephthalate] and PP [polypropylene] plastic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Sama says the CyBot has shown it \u201ccan reach more than 70 picks per minute,\u201d depending \u201con how many fractions you want to sort out.\u201d He said the throughput by weight can depend on the application and whether the arm is looking for a light plastic or a heavier metal or paperboard material.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The company says its new generation AutoSort system is equipped with a broad range of sensors and uses data to classify objects. The machine is capable of separating materials that are difficult, or even impossible, to separate using conventional technologies, says Tomra.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Optional technologies with the upgraded AutoSort include the new Deep Laser, which contains object recognition designed to enable a deeper sorting sharpness. Artificial intelligence (AI) is incorporated via the Deep Learning feature.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">SpeedAir technology, which Tomra calls \u201can additional component to Tomra\u2019s AutoSort range,\u201d has been designed to separate light materials such as plastic films from a mixed stream, or office paper from cardboard. Using the technology followed by a splitter can help with \u201cgenerating a higher throughput and enhancing sorting quality,\u201d says the firm.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Incorporated as standard in the latest AutoSort is Tomra\u2019s Sharp Eye technology, which is designed to enhance sorting sharpness and improve the separation of difficult-to-target fractions while also saving energy.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cOur new generation AutoSort system is an incredibly exciting development, as its use of versatile sensors and intelligent software will enable it to meet the demands of a whole host of current and future sorting applications,\u201d says Fabrizio Radice, vice president and head of global sales and marketing at Tomra Sorting Recycling.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Tomra says the product launches were originally planned to take place at IFAT 2020 in May in Munich. After the event was canceled, the company adapted its plans and instead launched the new products with the \u201cSymphony of all Sorts\u201d online event. The musical theme was chosen \u201cto reflect the way in which the latest generation AutoSort and its complementary products create a perfectly harmonized symphony to sort all kinds of [materials] with advanced accuracy and sophistication,\u201d says the firm.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Tom Eng, senior vice president and head of Tomra Sorting Recycling, expresses enthusiasm for both the online event and the products introduced at it. \u201cWe are delighted with how well the digital launch event went.
